According to the Department of Planning and Investment of Can Tho City, in the first 11 months of 2024, it is estimated that 1,666 new businesses were granted business registration with a total capital of VND 13,926 billion, reaching 92.56% of the plan in terms of number of businesses and increasing 7% of the plan in terms of capital, increasing 3.9% in terms of number of businesses and increasing 20% in terms of capital over the same period.
The number of enterprises registering for temporary suspension was 900, an increase of 32% in quantity over the same period; 195 enterprises completed dissolution documents, an increase of 33% in quantity; 386 enterprises returned to operation, an increase of 9% in quantity over the same period.
Can Tho Export Processing and Industrial Zones attracted 1 new investment project with a total investment capital of 1.18 million USD; adjusted 7 investment registration certificates, the total adjusted investment capital increased by 26.93 million USD; reduced 1 project not subject to procedures for granting investment registration certificates.
Up to now, Can Tho Export Processing and Industrial Zones have 257 projects, leasing 315.63 hectares of industrial land, total registered investment capital of 1.938 billion USD, implemented capital of 1.285 billion USD, accounting for 66% of total registered investment capital.
Total revenue of enterprises operating in industrial parks is 235.05 million USD, down 5% over the same period. The total number of employees working in Can Tho industrial parks is 45,589, up 5,238 over the same period.
Regarding domestic investment attraction (outside industrial parks), in the first 11 months of the year, the city had 8 new projects with registered investment capital of VND7,388.19 billion; adjusted investment policies for 6 projects and revoked 1 project. Up to now, there are 95 projects approved by the City People's Committee for investment policies that are being implemented, with a total land use area of about 1,923.12 hectares.
Regarding attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), up to now, the city has 81 foreign direct investment projects with a total registered investment capital of about 2,219.74 million USD (29 projects in industrial parks, 52 projects outside industrial parks).
