Many practical activities towards female workers
To celebrate the 14th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour for the term 2026 – 2031, celebrating the 116th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8, 1910 – March 8, 2026) and the 1986th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung uprising, the Da Nang City Labor Federation has launched many meaningful activities for female union members and workers.

One of the highlights is the 2026 Female Workers' Day, which is expected to attract a large number of female union members to participate. The festival includes two main competitions: ao dai performance and "Golden Bell Ringing".
In the ao dai performance section, 25 contestants who are female union members and workers will wear traditional or innovative ao dai, showing the charm of Vietnamese women in the modern working environment.
Meanwhile, the "Golden Bell Ringing" competition had the participation of 83 contestants from grassroots trade unions in Tam Thang, Thuan Yen industrial parks and trade unions in Ban Thach, Tam Ky, Huong Tra, Nui Thanh, and Chien Dan wards.
The content of the questions revolved around Vietnamese women's traditions, legal regulations related to female labor, knowledge about trade union organizations, health, family and social issues.
In parallel with that, many practical care activities are also being implemented at the grassroots levels. In Hoa Khanh ward, the local trade union is preparing to organize a seminar with the theme "Sightly nutrition - Delicious meals: From family kitchens to industrial shift meals" to provide nutrition knowledge and health care for female workers.
Ms. Phan Thi Nga - a worker living in Hoa Khanh ward, shared: "As workers working in shifts, sometimes we don't have much time to take care of meals for ourselves and our families. These nutrition seminars are very practical, helping women know how to choose food and arrange meals reasonably to ensure health.
According to Ms. Nga, in addition to knowledge, trade union programs also help female workers have more opportunities to exchange and share experiences in life and work.
Taking care of both material and spiritual life
Not only stopping at cultural and propaganda activities, the Da Nang City Labor Federation also implements many direct support programs for union members, especially female workers in difficult circumstances.
At the launching program, the City Labor Federation will award 20 "Trade Union Homes" to union members with housing difficulties. Among them, 5 houses are for female union members at grassroots trade unions in Tam Thang and Thuan Yen industrial parks; the remaining 15 houses are awarded to union members in commune and ward trade unions in the south of the city.
Each house is supported to be newly built with a budget of 50 million VND. In addition, 200 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, will also be given to female union members in difficult circumstances.
Notably, the City Labor Federation also launched a movement to mobilize trade union members to join hands to build 10 Great Solidarity houses for poor households in Phuoc Tra commune - a locality twinned with the City Labor Federation. The total budget for the program is 1.25 billion VND, mobilized from voluntary contributions of trade union members.
According to Mr. Le Van Dai - Standing Vice Chairman of the Da Nang City Labor Federation, this series of activities is designed with many rich contents to meet the diverse needs of female union members and workers.
Through programs such as the Women's Workers' Day, activities to care for and support housing, give gifts or propaganda contests, the City Labor Federation wishes to create a vibrant emulation atmosphere among female union members, while affirming the role, position and important contributions of women in the family and society" - Mr. Dai said.
According to Mr. Dai, in the coming time, the city's trade union organization will continue to innovate its operating methods, strengthen practical care programs to improve the material and spiritual life of union members, especially female workers.
These diverse, close and practical activities not only demonstrate the role of the trade union organization accompanying workers but also contribute to building a team of female workers in Da Nang city that is increasingly dynamic, confident and comprehensively developed.
