Workers couple have not had a wedding for 10 years
On December 27, the Standing Committee of the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor in coordination with the Dong Nai Provincial Women's Union and the Dong Nai Provincial Youth Union organized a collective wedding ceremony for 9 couples who are union members and workers in difficult circumstances, working at enterprises in Dong Nai province, with the desire to accompany workers in establishing themselves, starting a career, and building a prosperous and happy family life.
In the program, the union couples and workers participating in the collective wedding ceremony are also supported with all facilities and conditions for organizing the wedding ceremony such as hall, sound, light, wedding decoration, art program at the wedding party, wedding rings, ao dai, etc.
The female worker couple Bui Thi Kieu Giang and her husband Ho Van De are one of the 9 worker union couples organized. Ms. Giang and Mr. De were both orphans since childhood. Ms. Giang confided: "Every girl dreams of wearing a wedding dress once in her life, but due to circumstances, she could not fulfill her dream. Now, thanks to the union, my husband and I have been able to fulfill this big dream." Ms. Giang added that she and her husband loved each other so much that they lived together for 10 years, but only registered their marriage and did not have a wedding.
Humanitarian activities need to be expanded
Mr. Le Nhat Truong - Chairman of the Trade Union of Pousung Vietnam Co., Ltd. - shared that the collective wedding ceremony held for workers is a meaningful activity because there will be many workers who do not have the conditions to hold a wedding ceremony, standing on stage as a bride is the dream of many female workers. This activity is humane and positive and needs to be replicated.
According to the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor, this is the first time a mass wedding has been held for union members and workers in the province.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Y - President of Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor - said that the collective wedding ceremony was held with the participation of 9 couples of union members and workers in Dong Nai province, with the desire to help them overcome difficulties in life, to have a truly fulfilling and meaningful wedding day. The collective wedding ceremony program is not only an opportunity for couples to express their love, but also an opportunity for Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor to show its concern and care for the spiritual life of union members.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Y, we will spread this noble and civilized meaning together in 2025 and the following years, creating an annual activity, a beautiful cultural feature of union members and workers in the province.
