On the morning of August 27, the Labor Confederation of Kien Giang province organized the handover of the Trade Union Shelter to union member Tran Van Long, a security guard at Huynh Man Dat High School for the Gifted.
Union member Tran Van Long has worked at the school for nearly 10 years, and his family is very difficult. Previously, the reunited family lived in a house that was seriously degraded, and during the rainy season it leaked and was deeply flooded.
With the attention of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Education Sector Union requested the Provincial Labor Confederation to support union members to build houses from the Trade Union Shelter Fund. The house is worth 85 million VND, the Trade Union Shelter Fund supports 50 million VND, the rest is contributed by the family.
Mr. Long shared that in order to reduce house construction costs, he and his family participated in extra construction days to save costs and soon have a complete house.
At the handover ceremony, Mr. Long was very touched to have a complete house for his family, to fulfill his parents' wishes, and to have a stable place to live. Mr. Long also thanked the Trade Union for creating conditions to support his family to build a new house, have a place to settle down, and work with peace of mind.
At the ceremony, Ms. Trang Thi Bich Ngoc - Vice President of the Confederation of Labor of Kien Giang province - sent congratulations and gave a gift from the Confederation of Labor of the province to Mr. Long's family; Huynh Man Dat High School for the Gifted Community also gave a gift to Long union members to celebrate their new home.
