On January 25, the Lam Dong Provincial Federation of Labor said that the unit had just visited and given gifts to workers who lost their jobs and were owed wages during the Lunar New Year 2025.
The unit directed all levels of trade unions to survey the situation of wages and Tet bonuses. Currently, there are 4 businesses in the area facing difficulties, causing workers to lose their jobs or have their wages owed.
At Tan Viet Joint Stock Company, 19 workers lost their jobs because the company temporarily suspended operations to complete documents to continue mining the quarry. These workers have been receiving unemployment benefits since September 2024.
An Van Thinh Food Company Limited owes 34 workers salaries from September to December 2024 due to lack of orders, although it still maintains production.
Mr. Le Dinh Ngoc, Vice President of Bao Loc City Labor Federation shared: "We prioritize resources to visit, encourage and give gifts, helping workers have a more prosperous Tet."
In addition, 50 wood processing workers at a 100% state-owned forestry company are also facing difficulties due to prolonged job loss due to Lam Dong temporarily suspending the exploitation of planted forests.
The company has supported social insurance payments during the suspension of labor contracts, but many workers still face difficulties, especially during Tet.
On this occasion, the Provincial Labor Federation organized visits and presented Tet gifts worth 500,000 VND each, to promptly encourage and help workers overcome this difficult period.
