Currently, the Lao Cai Provincial Transport, Construction and Communications Trade Union has 62 affiliated grassroots trade unions with 3,829 workers, civil servants and employees; average income is 6.5 million VND/person/month.
In 2024, the industry trade union and grassroots trade unions have promoted the function of protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers; actively participated in giving opinions to agencies, units and enterprises to create jobs, increase income and improve the lives of workers.
The industry's trade union has had many grassroots-oriented activities such as: Giving support money to repair and build 5 new union shelters with a total value of 250 million VND; visiting and encouraging 395 union members in difficult circumstances with a total amount of 323 million VND; organizing union meals for 1,950 cadres, workers, civil servants and laborers...
In 2024, 37 union members were admitted to the Party; 550 union members were admitted; 6 new grassroots unions were established.
At the conference, delegates agreed on key tasks to be implemented in 2025.
Accordingly, the Lao Cai Transport, Construction Trade Union continues to direct grassroots trade unions to coordinate with professional counterparts to participate in solving employment, taking care of workers' lives, increasing income, improving the lives of union members and workers; innovate the content and forms of propaganda, mobilization, education to raise awareness for union members and workers.
On this occasion, 3 individuals were awarded certificates of merit by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for good workers and building strong trade union organizations.
In addition, the Lao Cai Provincial Transport, Construction and Communications Trade Union awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 collectives and 60 individuals for their outstanding achievements in the emulation movement for good workers and building a strong trade union organization in 2024.
Also at the conference, the Trade Union of the Transport, Transportation and Construction sectors announced the decision to establish a grassroots trade union of a non-state enterprise.
The industry union has admitted members and established a new grassroots union of DNT Technology Business One Member Co., Ltd. with 30 members; appointed a provisional Executive Committee and leadership positions of this grassroots union.
