Established on August 1, 2025, the Lao Cai Ward Trade Union currently manages 69 grassroots trade unions with more than 3,700 union members working in agencies, units, and businesses in Lao Cai ward and Bat Xat, Trinh Tuong, Ban Xeo, Den Sang, A Mu Sung, Muong Hum, Y Ty communes.
With a large area and diverse labor force, the Executive Committee of the ward trade union quickly consolidated the organization. At the same time, building a full-term work program, assigning specific tasks to effectively implement tasks according to the Resolution of the first ward Trade Union Congress, term 2025 - 2030.
Identifying union members and workers as the center of all activities, the work of caring for material and spiritual life is always put first by the ward union.
In 2025 and the first months of 2026, trade union levels mobilized over 1.4 billion VND to support and visit more than 800 union members in difficult circumstances, suffering from dangerous diseases...
The program "Tet Sum vay - Spring of Gratitude to the Party" is organized practically with a support budget of more than 300 million VND and hundreds of gifts and shopping vouchers for union members in difficult circumstances.
Many meaningful activities such as "Trade Union Meals", "Trade Union Homes", supporting repair and construction of houses or visiting union members have become timely support points, helping workers reduce difficulties and feel secure in working and production.
Grassroots trade unions regularly supervise the implementation of salary policies, social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance, occupational safety and health and regimes related to workers.
The Trade Union also effectively promotes its role as a bridge between workers and employers and local authorities. To date, 29 units have signed collective labor agreements, contributing to building a stable, progressive and harmonious working environment.
Propaganda and education work continues to be innovated with many rich forms. More than 2,700 turns of union members and workers participated in online contests to learn about the law.
One of the outstanding imprints of Lao Cai Ward Trade Union is the work of developing union members and building a strong trade union organization.
As of June 2026, the unit has newly admitted 526 union members, established 1 grassroots trade union with 82 union members and continued to mobilize the establishment of trade unions at many qualified enterprises.
The Ward Trade Union has introduced 102 outstanding union members to the Party for consideration and fostering, of which 50 union members were admitted to the Party.
Women's work activities continue to be concerned with the widespread implementation of the movements "Good at state affairs, good at housework", "Women actively study, creatively work, and build happy families".
Mr. Dang Nguyen Hoan - Chairman of Lao Cai Ward Trade Union - said that the results achieved in the past time are a combination of the efforts of the team of trade union officials, union members, and workers along with the leadership and direction of the Party Committee and local authorities and the active coordination of agencies, units, and businesses in the area.
