Support teachers and workers in difficulty
In the 2023-2024 school year, the Education Trade Union at all levels of Quang Binh province will participate in management activities in each unit, jointly research, develop, supplement, amend, inspect and supervise the implementation of regimes and policies directly related to the rights and interests of workers.
Chairwoman of the Education Trade Union of Quang Binh Province, Do Thi Que, said that last school year, education trade unions at all levels also coordinated with their professional counterparts and local authorities to grasp the situation, direct and resolve outstanding issues relatively well and promptly.
“The most prominent activities are supporting employees facing difficulties, accidents, and illness, organizing activities such as “Tet Sum Vay”, “Worker Month”…” – Ms. Que said.
According to Ms. Do Thi Que, the Industry Union also visited and supported 220 teachers and workers, including 160 people, each receiving 500,000 VND and 65 people in special circumstances, each receiving 1 million VND, and awarded 23 scholarships to poor students.
In particular, on the occasion of the 41st anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20, the Industry Trade Union and the Department's Agency Trade Union coordinated with the Department of Education and Training to mobilize benefactors to support 111 teachers and workers in difficult circumstances and serious illnesses with a total budget of 181 million VND; on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2024, visit, encourage and give gifts to teachers, workers and students at 4 schools in remote areas with difficult conditions with a total amount of more than 78 million VND...
Emulation movements and major campaigns in the industry continue to be promoted, focusing on the emulation movements "Two Goods", "Innovation and Creativity in Management, Teaching and Learning" associated with "Innovation, Creativity and Efficiency in Trade Union Activities"... The movement "Teaching to Help Each Other Go to School" to improve qualifications, expertise and professionalism, the movement "Tutoring weak and poor students" to improve the quality of mass education...
Addressing social concerns
In the 2024-2025 school year, Quang Binh Education Trade Union will proactively propose to participate, participate with the highest responsibility in the councils of the Education sector; representing employees to speak up about the advantages and difficulties in the working process, life and income of employees.
The Union fully and effectively participates in councils related to employees and meetings of agencies and units; encourages teachers and employees to raise their awareness of union membership, actively contribute ideas to build and perfect internal mechanisms, institutions and regulations.
Education unions at all levels focus on innovating and diversifying propaganda forms, increasing the use of information technology and social networks, organizing forums, thematic talks, competitions, and seminars.
Pay attention to, orient information, coordinate, and effectively handle communication issues, especially social issues of concern and urgency, so that society and people understand, share, and support the education sector more.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of the Quang Binh Provincial Labor Federation Vo Van Tien highly appreciated the work of the Provincial Education Trade Union in recent times.
Mr. Tien requested that in the coming time, the Education Trade Union focus resources on performing the task of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers, focusing on dialogue, school democracy, and professional capacity to meet the requirements of the tasks for teachers and workers.
