On October 4, the National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Long province organized a meeting with voters between National Assembly Deputies and cadres, union members, and workers (DV, NLD) and presented gifts to DV, NLD in 2024.
Representing the National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Long province, Mr. Trinh Minh Binh - a full-time National Assembly delegate of the 15th tenure - reported on the expected outline of the content of the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly and some activities of the National Assembly Delegation since the 7th Session until now.
At the conference, voters expressed many opinions related to the Trade Union Law (amended) and the Employment Law (amended). In particular, issues regarding benefits when participating in unemployment insurance (UI) were of interest to many voters who are union members and employees.
Voter Mai Thi Hong Ngoc - Trade Union of Cuu Long Petroleum Trading Joint Stock Company - said that the implementation of the Law on Employment shows that there are still a number of employees whose unemployment insurance benefits are suspended due to ineffective business operations leading to dissolution, bankruptcy or business owners intentionally fleeing... Voters hope that the National Assembly will have specific regulations to resolve this situation.
Also related to the issue of unemployment insurance, voter Phan Tuan Hai - Trade Union of Ty Bach Company Limited - expressed that many union members and employees wish to receive timely support from the State when falling into the case of enterprises owing or evading unemployment insurance payments so that they can enjoy unemployment insurance benefits according to regulations, ensure their lives, and develop new jobs.
Voter Le Nguyen Phu Chan - Trade Union of Hoang Vu Company Limited - wishes to increase unemployment benefits from 60% to 75% (equal to the maximum pension) to create conditions to support workers to have a minimum living when they lose their jobs or become unemployed.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Trang - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of Propaganda of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Long province - received and recorded the opinions and recommendations of voters related to labor and employment issues.
Regarding specific issues of unemployment insurance benefits, employee benefits when fired... Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Trang said that based on voters' opinions, the National Assembly Delegation of Vinh Long province will fully absorb and record them; at the same time, research, coordinate, ask for expert opinions, continue to discuss in the National Assembly Delegation and at the 8th session forum. From there, we will continue to inform voters in the spirit of optimization, ensuring the rights of workers and laborers when the Law on Employment is submitted to the National Assembly for comments.
On this occasion, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation presented 200 gifts to union members and workers in difficult circumstances, each gift worth 1 million VND.
