On August 9, at Doan Ket residential group, Van Son ward, the Vietnam Off-road Motorcycle Race - VTV Cup 2026 took place.
The race is organized by VTV5 in coordination with the Vietnam Cycling and Motorcycling Federation, and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Son La province.

The tournament attracts more than 110 athletes from 26 clubs across the country, including 6 female athletes and 15 foreign athletes. The cyclists compete in 3 systems including D1 (expanded), D2 (semi-professional) and E (professional).
The racetrack is designed in the Hard Enduro style, about 6.8km long. Racers must overcome many natural terrains such as steep slopes, dirt roads, rocky beaches, shallow streams, tea hills and hills.
The new point of this year's race is that local cultural elements are included in the race track. Two checkpoints with cultural characteristics of the Thai and Dao people both perform the task of controlling the route and are a point for athletes to rest, socialize and enjoy local products.
The cyclists dedicate to the audience continuous slopes, ice cycling and terrain handling, creating a lively and attractive atmosphere in the competition area.

At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize of the D1 system to Nguyen Van Ngoc, the D2 system to Nguyen Duy Dung and the E system to Nguyen Van Tao. The second and third prizes were also awarded to athletes with high achievements in each competition system.
The tournament contributes to creating an attractive sports playground, while promoting the natural landscape, culture and tourism potential of Son La to tourists.
