32 teams participate in the HUTECH University Football Tournament

On the morning of March 29, the HUTECH alumni Football Tournament 2025 opened with excitement, attracting the participation of 32 football teams and over 480 players.

This is a tournament jointly organized by the Veterans Association, the Business Club and the Business Cooperation Center, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (HUTECH), on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the school's founding (April 26, 1995 - April 26, 2025) and the International Day of Sports for Development and Peace (May 6,).

The tournament attracted 32 teams, with over 480 players from 75 enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City participating. The organizing committee drawn 32 teams into 8 groups, competing in a round-robin format. After the group stage, the top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout round. The winning teams in this round will continue to advance to the quarter-finals and finals. The final and award ceremony will take place on April 12.

Dr. Vu Van Hoang, Chairman of the school's Veterans Association, Chairman of the Hutech Business Club, said that through football, participants also contribute to building a symbol of team spirit, bravery and perseverance.

He said: "We believe that this tournament will not only bring exciting matches but also be a solid bridge to help alumni and businesses strengthen cooperative relationships, opening up many opportunities for connections in the future for students".

Participating in this tournament, player Nguyen Van Cap, An Phu Khang team, who is called the "king of the ice field" by the amateur football community, shared: "The tournament has the participation of many strong teams from many different businesses. Our team will strive to contribute to the success and professional quality of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Do Sang, a former student of the 2012 class, Faculty of Information Technology of Hutech School, said that this is not only a tournament, but also an opportunity for the players and teams to maintain solidarity. Meanwhile, former student Phan Manh Cuong emphasized that through the tournament, he and the players have the opportunity to exchange, connect, and seek cooperation opportunities with businesses.
