On the morning of May 23, the Organizing Committee of the 2026 Tra On Commune Sports Festival held the opening ceremony for men's volleyball and billiards, attracting a large number of athletes and fans to participate.
The opening ceremony took place at the multi-purpose gymnasium of the Sports - Television Park of Tra On commune and Hong Duc Billiard Club. More than 100 athletes from units in the commune and a large number of people came to cheer, creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere.
In men's volleyball, there are 9 teams participating in the competition; billiards have 16 athletes competing, promising to bring exciting, dramatic and professionally rich matches.
Congress The 2026 Tra On Commune Sports Festival of Tra On commune is organized with 8 sports including: 5-a-side men's football, men's volleyball, athletics, tug-of-war, stick pushing, traditional martial arts, billiards and Chinese chess. The sports take place from now until the end of June 14.
According to the plan, the opening ceremony of the Congress will be held on June 13 and the closing ceremony will take place on June 14, at Tra On Sports - Television Park.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Thuy - Party Committee Member, Vice Chairwoman of Tra On Commune People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee - emphasized that the Congress is a practical activity in response to the movement "All people practice physical exercise following the example of the great Uncle Ho", contributing to improving the health, physical strength and spiritual life of the people.
Through the Congress, it aims to raise awareness of all levels and sectors about the role of physical education and sports; and at the same time create conditions for athletes to exchange, learn, and strengthen solidarity between units in the area.
The Congress is also an opportunity to discover and select talented athletes to continue fostering and participating in the X Vinh Long Provincial Sports Festival in 2026.
The Head of the Organizing Committee requested the athlete delegations to compete with a spirit of solidarity, honesty, nobility, strictly comply with the tournament regulations, contributing to the overall success of the Games.
