About 600 athletes compete at the community badminton tournament in Ho Chi Minh City

The "I Want to Play Badminton" 2026 tournament gathers about 600 athletes, and also raises funds to support training equipment for students in remote and isolated areas.

The 5th "I Want to Play Badminton" badminton tournament in 2026 will take place on June 13 and 14 at the Public Service Supply Center of Tan Thuan ward (HCMC), with the aim of raising funds to support sports equipment for students in remote and isolated areas.

Organized annually since 2022, the tournament aims to spread the spirit of sharing through community sports activities. All donations from philanthropists will be used to purchase rackets, balls, nets, shoes and many other training equipment to donate to schools in difficult circumstances.

According to the Organizing Committee, this year's tournament gathers about 600 athletes from 40 badminton clubs in many provinces and cities. The competition contents are divided into many age groups, from under 13 years old to couples aged 90+.

Not only is it a sports playground, the program also has the meaning of encouraging and energizing young talents to pursue their passions. At the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee will award 5 scholarships to students with special circumstances but still achieving positive results in badminton practice and competition.

In addition to professional matches, the tournament also has exchange activities with many badminton content creators loved by the community. The program is expected to contribute to spreading the badminton movement and connecting the sports-loving community.
