Skechers PWR Masters 700 Tournament Japan (in Japan, awarded on March 3) is a professional pickleball tournament jointly organized by the World Pickleball Ranking Organization (PWR) and the Japan Pickleball Association (JPA).

At the tournament, Sophia Phuong Anh excellently won the silver medal in the U19+ women's doubles category (Pro), this is the first medal of a Vietnamese athlete at the PWR Master 700 tournament.



After the tournament, shared on March 4, Sophia Phuong Anh said: "I am very happy and proud to be the only and youngest Vietnamese athlete participating in this tournament, although I did not win the highest position, but this is an opportunity for me to study and learn more pickleball techniques from the tournament's professional athletes".
Previously, on February 22-23, Sophia won the gold medal in the "19+ Men's and Women's doubles" event at the APBA Pickleball Open tournament held in Ho Chi Minh City. This victory also helped Sophia and her teammates Le Xuan Duc get a ticket to the APBA tournament in Shenzhen - China at the end of April this year.
Sophia Phuong Anh, born in 2008, in Ho Chi Minh City, has parents who are both Vietnamese. She has been introduced to tennis since she was 5 years old under the guidance of her father. In 2018, Phuong Anh won the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Tennis Championship while in 4th grade. Phuong Anh was once called up to the Vietnam national tennis team, achieving many high achievements when playing professional tennis, but an shoulder injury took her nearly a year off from competition for treatment.
During her injury treatment, Phuong Anh learned other gentler sports that were more suitable for her physical condition and decided to pursue pickleball.
