After 13 days of exciting competition (from October 15 to 27.) with the participation of 56 men's teams and 32 women's teams, the qualifying round of the 2025 National Student Basketball Tournament - TV360 Cup in the Northern region ended at Phenikaa University Gymnasium (Hanoi). The tournament determined the excellent representatives to qualify for the national finals taking place in November.
On the final day of competition, the enthusiastic atmosphere surrounded the Phenikaa Stadium when the finals for men and women took place dramatically. Hundreds of spectators, students and basketball lovers filled the stands, creating a fiery atmosphere.
In the women's event, the Hanoi National University (VNU) team won the championship after a 3625 victory over Hanoi National University of Education (HNUE), ending their impressive winning journey.
This is a title worthy of the efforts and competitive spirit of the VNU girls, while HNUE won the regional runner-up position for the second consecutive time. The title of best athlete in the women's event went to Vu Mai Anh (VNU).
The men's event witnessed an explosive performance by the University of Transport (UTC), the team defeated the defending champion of the University of Economics - VNU-UghN (UEB) with a score of 60'48 to be crowned. Nguyen Van Truong (UTC) was voted the best athlete when he contributed to helping the team become the first team to win the Northern region twice.
The strongest teams in the region will participate in the national finals taking place from November 6 to 16, 2025 at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, along with representatives from the Central and Southern regions. The tournament is chaired by the Department of Physical Education (Ministry of Education and Training), in coordination with Max Sports Company, Vietcontent and main sponsor TV360, aiming to develop the school basketball movement and discover young talents for Vietnamese sports.
