Dong Thap Department of Education and Training has just announced the high school enrollment target for the 2026-2027 school year. Accordingly, the whole province enrolls 986 public 10th grade classes, distributed to 83 high school education institutions in the area.
Many schools have large enrollment scales, ranging from 15 to 18 classes, such as Chau Thanh 1 High School, Sa Dec High School, Cao Lanh 2 High School, Truong Dinh High School, Go Cong Dong High School, Nguyen Dinh Chieu High School, Cho Gao High School... Maintaining high enrollment scales at these schools is to meet the increasing learning needs of students, while reducing pressure on enrollment work.

According to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, the number of students in grade 10 is arranged at a maximum of 45 students/class. But in Dong Thap, the province continues to maintain the class size at specialized high schools at about 35 students/class to ensure training quality. Specialized classes focus on strength subjects such as Math, Literature, English, Physics, Chemistry... to discover and nurture gifted students.

Specifically, Nguyen Dinh Chieu Specialized High School and Nguyen Quang Dieu Specialized High School both enroll 11 classes, while Tien Giang Specialized High School enrolls 14 classes. This is considered the core force in training key students, contributing to improving the quality of education in the locality.
Currently, Dong Thap province has more than 49,200 students in 9th grade. Faced with enrollment pressure, the local education sector is promoting counseling, career orientation and post-secondary school vocational guidance. This is to help students choose a career path that is suitable for their abilities, conditions and social needs, and at the same time create a balance between general education and vocational education in the new context.
Along with that, the education sector continues to innovate teaching methods in the direction of promoting student initiative, improving training quality, and meeting the requirements of human resource development of the province in the coming time.
