On October 11, the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Long province coordinated with the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of Vinh Long Provincial Party Committee and the Coast Guard Region 3 Command to organize the contest "I love the sea and islands of my homeland" in the 2025-2026 school year, the commune-level, ward-level round - cluster 1 of Vinh Long province.
The contest has the direct participation of students from junior high school (MTS) at the Multi-purpose House of Ba Tri Secondary School. Through the contest, the organizing committee hopes to widely disseminate to students knowledge about the history of building and defending the country of the Vietnamese people, the traditions of the People's Army and the Vietnam Coast Guard, as well as the revolutionary traditions of the locality in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
In addition, the contest also helps students learn about the provisions of the law on seas and islands of Vietnam and internationally, knowledge of drug prevention and control, school violence and many other life skills education contents. This is also a useful and interesting playground, helping children express their love for their homeland and country - especially their sacred affection for the sea and islands of their homeland. In addition, it also raises students' awareness of the role and strategic position of seas and islands in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland, contributing to fostering national pride and sense of responsibility of today's young generation.
At the end of the round, the Organizing Committee awarded certificates of merit to 6 collectives with many achievements in implementing the contest "I love the sea and islands of my homeland" in the 2025-2026 school year for secondary school students in coastal communes and wards of Vinh Long province.
On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also presented 15 bicycles and 20 scholarships to students studying at secondary schools in the area. These meaningful gifts are a practical source of encouragement, helping them make more efforts in studying and nurturing their dreams to become useful citizens, contributing to protecting and building a rich and beautiful homeland.
