The training program "Digital Competence and Digital Safety" is part of the Kaspersky Kids Cyber Resilience Project - a collaborative initiative between educators, parents, students, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and the Vietnamese Government, with the aim of raising awareness of cybersecurity threats in the digital space.
According to the report of We Are Social: Vietnam Digital 2024, Facebook and TikTok are currently leading the rankings of social networking platforms in Vietnam, ranking No. 1 and No. 5 respectively in terms of the number of active users. However, besides the convenience and appeal that these platforms bring, there are also many potential risks that young people need to be aware of early and take timely preventive measures.
Statistics show that the online fraud situation in Vietnam is getting more and more serious. In the first 9 months of 2024, the Vietnam Information Security Department recorded more than 22,000 online fraud cases.
This shows that, despite close supervision from parents, the need to protect information security for young people is more necessary than ever. In this situation, schools need to take drastic actions to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to prevent online risks.
After completing the "Digital Competency and Digital Safety" training course, teachers will be equipped with a solid foundation in cybersecurity, thereby guiding students to protect themselves in the digital world. With in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity, teachers will help students identify sophisticated scams, stay away from malicious websites and effectively protect personal accounts.
Not only that, the course also helps students practice vigilance, while also being more confident when participating in online activities and becoming responsible social media users. Equipping students with cybersecurity skills from an early age will contribute to building a healthier and safer online community.
The training also provides teachers with the knowledge needed to respond to common cybersecurity challenges today, such as privacy risks and cyberbullying.
