On September 11, Cuu Long University organized a conference to summarize the implementation of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation. The conference also deployed Plan 167/KH-UBND of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee.
At the conference, the school recorded many outstanding results in digital infrastructure and research. 100% of affiliated units are connected to high-speed fiber optic networks. The UIS management software system and AI are put into synchronous operation.
Each year, the school spends more than 4 billion VND to implement science and technology tasks. The school has implemented many topics at all levels and published more than 53 international articles in the WoS/Scopus category and 217 domestic articles.
At the same time, the school opens new majors such as artificial intelligence, digital economy. Tens of thousands of students have access to AI knowledge. The model of linking with 33 businesses and corporations is also being promoted effectively.
Speaking at the conference, Dr. Dang Thi Ngoc Lan - Vice Rector of the school - emphasized that in the coming period, it will strongly shift to specific scientific products. The school focuses on investing in strong laboratories and research groups.
The set goal is to increase the number of prestigious international articles by 5-10% each year. The school also strives to successfully register 3-5 protection papers for useful solutions or patents each year.
In particular, the school builds a mechanism to establish at least 1 science and technology enterprise. This unit directly helps commercialize research results and bring practical application products to the market.
In addition, the school prioritizes cooperation with large technology corporations to train human resources. Key areas include semiconductor industry, microchip design, AI, big data and biotechnology.
