On July 15, Lao Cai Provincial Police said that Chan Thinh Commune Police praised Mr. Ha Dinh Trong (born 2008, residing in Day 2 village, Chan Thinh commune) for his beautiful action when he proactively returned more than 17 million VND due to another person's mistaken transfer.
Accordingly, at about 5 pm on July 13, Mr. Trong's bank account suddenly received 17,032,000 VND from an unknown account. Suspecting that someone else had transferred it by mistake, he did not use the money but went to Chan Thinh Commune Police to report to ask for support in verifying.
Immediately after receiving the information, Chan Thinh Commune Police quickly verified and identified the person who mistakenly transferred it as Mr. Duong Minh Quan (born in 1985, residing in Dong Trach commune, Quang Tri province).
After completing the verification, the Commune Police guided Mr. Ha Dinh Trong to carry out the necessary procedures to fully return the amount of 17,032,000 VND to the account holder.
According to Chan Thinh Commune Police, Mr. Trong's honest action is a beautiful act, showing a sense of responsibility and the spirit of respecting the law, contributing to spreading positive values in the community.
Through the incident, the police force recommends that when people receive money mistakenly transferred by others, they should keep the money, do not arbitrarily use it or transfer it to others without clear verification. People should contact the bank or report to the police agency for guidance on handling according to regulations.
