On August 11, Lao Cai Provincial Police said that Phuc Khanh Commune Police had just coordinated with the Police force in Hanoi to find baby N.N.B. N (born 2010) and bring her back to her family safely.
Previously, on August 7, Phuc Khanh Commune Police received a report from Mr. N.V.H (residing in Viet Tien village, Phuc Khanh commune) about his daughter leaving home and the family being unable to contact her.
According to the report, at about 7 am on August 6, N left home, went to National Highway 70 in Cau Coc village and then took a passenger car on the Bao Yen - My Dinh route.
At about 12 pm on the same day, she got off the bus at My Dinh bus station, Hanoi and was picked up by a stranger. At about 7:30 pm, she sent her location to her family and said that she was in Van Con area, An Khanh commune, Hanoi.
After that, the family could not contact him.
Recognizing that the case is at risk of being related to children being seduced and lured through relationships on social networks, Phuc Khanh Commune Police urgently deployed measures to verify and search.
The Head of the Commune Police directed the Crime Prevention and Control Police Team to verify information, and at the same time coordinate with An Khanh Commune Police, Hanoi to clarify the last location where child N sent the location.
At 1:45 pm on August 8, the police force determined that N was in hamlet 5, Phuc Tho commune, Hanoi.
An Khanh Commune Police quickly picked up baby N and took her to the Police headquarters to ensure safety.
At 7 pm on the same day, Phuc Khanh Commune Police coordinated with the family to pick up baby N to return home in Viet Tien village, Phuc Khanh commune. Currently, the baby's health and spirit are stable.
Through initial verification, N said that she had previously met a woman named Lien, about 30 years old, through the social network TikTok.
This person invited me to go to Hanoi to play. According to instructions, I came to Hanoi and met the woman at about 2 pm on August 6.
After that, the woman took the child to get her hair done, bought clothes, ate, rested at home and went to play in the Phuc Tho commune area.
From the incident, Phuc Khanh Commune Police recommends that families regularly pay attention to and grasp the thoughts, feelings and relationships of their children, especially when children use social networks.
Parents need to guide children not to arbitrarily provide personal information, addresses, phone numbers, photos or locations to strangers online.
Children and teenagers also need to be wary of invitations to play, work, travel or promises of "light work, high salary" from new acquaintances online.
When children lose contact or show signs of being seduced or lured, families need to quickly report to the nearest police agency for timely verification and search assistance.
