These days, trucks carrying flowers and ornamental plants for the Lunar New Year 2025 have begun to pour into Vinh city (Nghe An), mainly containing four-season lemons, grapefruits, ornamental tangerines, and phalaenopsis orchids.
Along some streets in Vinh City, especially Lenin Avenue, many new flower and ornamental plant shops have appeared.
Ms. Mai Hong Van - a Tet ornamental plant trader in Vinh city said that Phalaenopsis orchids are noble, luxurious flowers, suitable for year-round use, especially during Tet when they sell very well.

“A few years ago, the price of Phalaenopsis orchids was very high, but recently the price has dropped a lot, making it more accessible to many customer segments. In addition, businesses also have other forms of promotions,” Ms. Hong Van shared.
To meet customer demand, orchid traders must hire workers to design flower pots, vases, etc. at very high prices.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Ha - a Tet ornamental tree trader in Vinh city said that this year he imported about 700 tangerine, Dien grapefruit, four-season lemon trees and thousands of peach and apricot trees to serve people to enjoy Tet.
“Ornamental plants are mainly imported from provinces and cities such as Hung Yen, Hanoi... This time, I brought in ornamental plants such as grapefruit, tangerine, four-season lemon... in advance to serve people's need to celebrate Tet early. From the 10th of December, trucks carrying peach and apricot flowers started arriving. This year, I took less goods than last year" - Mr. Nguyen Hong Ha shared.

The four-season lemon is one of the ornamental plants that has been imported a lot this year. On this occasion, many ornamental tangerine trees have also been imported. Ornamental tangerine trees are larger than kumquat trees, and large trees are priced at over 20 million VND.
Dien grapefruit is mostly imported from the northern provinces every Tet holiday. According to a survey, the average price of grapefruit is from 10 to 40 million VND/pot, only a few large, long-standing trees with unique shapes and forms cost about 80 million VND/pot.

This year, the economic situation is forecast to be difficult, so the purchasing power of flowers and ornamental plants will decrease. Therefore, many flower and ornamental plant business owners are more careful in calculating the quantity and type of imported goods to ensure the highest capital recovery.
