The "TRANG HOA" season VI project implemented by students of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) organized the "Nhat Chieu" program at the Social Work Center and the Children's Fund at campus 2 (Dong Anh commune, Hanoi).
The program includes exchange activities, interactive games and the donation of books, school supplies and some necessities for children being cared for at the center.
According to the organizers, "TRANG HOA" is a literary project implemented by school students for many years, aiming to encourage reading culture in the community. This year, in addition to activities related to books and literature, the project combines with charity activities for children in difficult circumstances.
At the program, children participated in many games designed based on the content of some Vietnamese literary works. Through the form of experience, the organizers want to create an environment to help children access books and reading activities in a closer way.

To prepare for the program, project members mobilized donations of books, stories, school supplies and necessities from students of secondary and high schools and philanthropists in Hanoi. As a result, the project received more than 890 books and stories; nearly 500 sets of school supplies; 480 boxes of milk, 150 portions of candies and 10 boxes of instant noodles to donate to the center.
Do Minh Chau - Head of the ORGANIZING Committee of the "TRANG HOA" season VI project - said that the group hopes that the donated books will contribute to helping young children have more opportunities to access knowledge and form reading habits.
For us, each book given is not only a gift but also an opportunity for them to access more knowledge. We hope that activities like this will bring learning motivation and reading pleasure to them" - Minh Chau shared.
As one of the young children participating in the program, Nguyen Thi Xuan Mai expressed that she loves reading stories and literary works. "I really like reading stories and love good essays, it is the magical world in books that has nurtured in me the dream of growing up to become a literature teacher or a writer to continue to inspire future generations" - Mai shared.
Assessing the activities, MSc. Luong Van Thinh - teacher of the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities - said that the program not only supports children in difficult circumstances but also creates opportunities for students to participate in projects to train skills in organizing community activities and raise social responsibility awareness.
In the journey of teaching, I feel that this is an activity with profound practical educational value, helping students not only appreciate the value of literature but also know how to transform that love into practical actions with strong spreading power. Through these practical experiences, the younger generation will be trained and nurtured in a spirit of responsibility, compassion and empathy for the less fortunate fates around them more" - Mr. Thinh said.
