On April 29, Lang Son Provincial Police said that in the past time, Van Lang Commune Police have effectively implemented the model "exchanging weapons, explosives, support tools, firecrackers for gifts and letters of commendation", contributing to raising people's awareness of law compliance.
Through many forms of propaganda and mobilization suitable to reality, the model has created positive changes in awareness, and at the same time helped recover many types of weapons and dangerous tools from the people.

Giving gifts and letters of commendation to people who voluntarily hand over not only encourages spirit but also creates a spreading effect, helping people better understand the dangers and consequences of illegal possession and use of weapons, explosives and supporting tools.
In April 2026 alone, Van Lang Commune Police successfully mobilized a citizen to voluntarily hand over 1 fish engine and 1 battery used for electric shock. This is an act that poses many potential safety risks and seriously affects the ecological environment.
The voluntary handover shows clear effectiveness from propaganda work, while contributing to preventing law violations right from the grassroots level.
Since the model was implemented, the commune police force has mobilized people to hand over and recover many types of dangerous weapons and tools such as: 6 homemade guns, 30 lead bullets, 2 swords, 1 machete, 1 electric shock device, and many homemade knives.
These figures reflect a positive change in people's awareness, as well as consensus and trust in the police force.
Not only bringing efficiency in ensuring security and order, the model also clearly shows humanity when promptly recognizing and encouraging the right actions of the people.
The Chairman of Van Lang Commune People's Committee directly accompanied, supported and presented gifts to cases of voluntary submission, contributing to spreading the spirit of responsibility in the community.
Recognizing the achieved results, the Director of Lang Son Provincial Police praised the model, considering it a typical example of "good people, good deeds" that needs to be replicated.
Reality shows that each act of voluntarily handing over weapons not only helps minimize the risk of unsafety but also makes a practical contribution to the peace of the locality.
With initial results, the "exchange of weapons for gifts" model in Van Lang commune is becoming an effective approach, suitable to reality, contributing to building a safe and civilized area, towards the goal of maintaining stable security and order right from the grassroots level.
