This is one of the key tasks to achieve the goal of sustainable poverty reduction, ensuring social security and building new rural areas.
According to statistics, the whole province has eliminated 10,801 temporary and dilapidated houses, of which 7,479 were newly built and 3,322 were repaired, reaching 100% of the plan.
The support structure is clearly allocated: more than 1,400 houses for families of meritorious people, over 2,300 houses for households under the sustainable poverty reduction program, more than 1,100 houses for ethnic minority and mountainous areas, the rest are poor households, near-poor households and particularly disadvantaged groups.
To implement the program, Phu Tho has mobilized a total of over 203.5 billion VND, of which the "For the Poor" Fund and socialized sources contributed more than 154 billion VND.
In parallel, armed forces units, unions and local authorities have mobilized more than 32,000 working days, along with many vehicles and machines to support the transportation of materials and level the foundation, contributing to speeding up the construction progress.
During the peak period in mid-2025, the Provincial Military Command mobilized dozens of officers and soldiers to go to disadvantaged mountainous communes to support people in building houses, helping many projects to be completed on schedule. In addition, local authorities have also integrated programs to support livelihoods, vocational training, and provide plant and animal varieties so that poor households can confidently develop production.
As of mid-August 2025, the whole province still has about 652 apartments/10,801 apartments that have not been completed (accounting for 6%). The Provincial People's Committee has requested localities and related units to complete the remaining number in August 2025, while committing to ensuring the quality of the project and transparency in resource use.
The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Phu Tho not only has the meaning of security but also creates momentum for household economic development, helping people escape poverty.
This responds to the emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" in the period of 2021 - 2025 that the whole country is joining hands to implement.
