HCMC builds 3 more bridges and 2 underpasses to rescue traffic jams
Ho Chi Minh City will build more Kinh Duong Vuong overpass, Binh Dien bridge, overpass and two underpasses at Binh Thuan intersection to reduce traffic congestion at the southern gateway.
These are items in the project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1 (now Le Kha Pieu Street) from Kinh Duong Vuong Street to the border of Tay Ninh province (formerly Long An province), with a total investment of about VND 16,285 billion under the BOT (build - operate - transfer) form.
The project is over 9.6 km long, expanding the road surface from the current status of 20 - 2 5m (4 - 6 lanes) to 60 m, accommodating 10 - 12 lanes.
Notably, many more overpasses and underpasses at major intersections will be built on the route to synchronize with the expansion of the road surface.
