Christopher Nolan's epic blockbuster "The Odyssey" is creating attraction at the Vietnamese box office. According to box office data, the work is currently ranked 2nd in the revenue chart, earning more than 14 billion VND, with revenue on July 18 alone reaching about more than 5 billion VND.
Before its release, "The Odyssey" also set two new milestones in the Vietnamese market when it became Christopher Nolan's film with the highest number of pre-orders and achieved the highest IMAX ticket sales on the opening day among the director's works.
At the premiere event taking place in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, the film gathered many Vietnamese artists and filmmakers such as Meritorious Artist Chieu Xuan, director Charlie Nguyen, Le Thanh Son, Trinh Dinh Le Minh, Dang Thai Huyen, Thu Trang - Tien Luat, MC Thanh Trung and many other faces.
Adapted from Homer's famous epic, "The Odyssey" tells the long journey of King Odysseus on his way back to his homeland after the victory in the Trojan War. During the journey, he faces a series of challenges, from gods and monsters in Greek mythology to events that occur right in his kingdom.
The film gathers an international cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Charlize Theron, Robert Pattinson and Zendaya. This is still a project implemented by Christopher Nolan on a large scale, combining epics, mythology and IMAX filming techniques.
