This is a work directed by the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association, the Small Stage Drama Theater is responsible for organizing the performance, and is also the A prize winning script at the Scenario Writing Camp.
"Lac" is set in a General Hospital - a space that seems to be only associated with saving people but becomes a place of fierce clashes between benefits, power and medicine. BMS's medical equipment supply contract becomes a harsh test for the conscience of hospital leaders, especially Mr. Tai - hospital director - and Dr. Duc, a medical talent who is struggling to face the temptation of prestige and fame.

That tornado not only swept away doctors but also affected those around them: reporter Trang - the lover of Dr. Tuan, Dr. Luong - his colleagues standing shoulder to shoulder, patients who put all their trust and life in the hospital, along with the relationships they have had in the past. All of this creates a multi-dimensional picture of the breakdown of trust when professional ethics are tested.
According to the assessment of the Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association, "Lac" is a script with a "hot" ideology, closely following the current situation in the context of the country having many strong movements, especially the fight against corruption with the spirit of "no forbidden areas, no exceptions".
Choosing the medical field as the center of the story increases the weight of the play, because this is a field directly related to public health and social concerns that have lasted for many years.
Despite the thorny theme, the director duo Quoc Thinh - Tran Dam Cong Ninh chose a soft, approachable staging method. Interspersed with stressful performances are charming moments and laughter in the way doctors treat patients. Dance techniques are used in many climbs, both extolling emotions and creating a modern stage feel.
The highlight of the play is also the music, with the theme song Lac composed by Meritorious Artist Phung Tien Minh, performed by singer Bui Anh Tuan, with a passionate and demanding melody.
With the participation of a group of experienced artists and a young cast, "Lac" is not only an entertaining play but also raises painful questions about medicine, responsibility and human choice in the face of temptation.
After the premiere, "Lac" will continue to serve the audience on the evening of January 4, 2026, promising to be a notable work of the Ho Chi Minh City stage at the beginning of the new year.
