This is marking the first time this famous Broadway work has been fully staged in Vietnam. The event was attended by director Trinh Dinh Le Minh, acting coach Ly Thu Uyen, singer Phuong Vy, her family, actress Le Hai, Juliet Bao Ngoc and many stage artists Thien Dang.
Director Jay-Thien Nguyen, founder of ITS, shared that this is a "big risk" for the young group after two years of building a music-loving community. Graduated with a Master's degree in Music from Temple University (USA), he cherished the desire to bring this art form to Vietnam in a professional direction and closer to the audience. ITS received support from many famous artists, including Meritorious Artist Thanh Loc, who invited the group to Thien Dang stage to collaborate and bring the music closer to the public.
The play is adapted from the novel My Love, My Love (The Peasant Girl) by Rosa Guy, telling the journey of a girl named Ti Moune to overcome class lines and social prejudices to pursue love and fate. The story has a fresh, modern Latin - Caribbean sound, combining singing, acting and dancing.

The "showcase" took place in a vibrant atmosphere, receiving many applause from the audience. Singer Phuong Vy expressed her admiration for the group's efforts: "I really admire you guys for singing, performing, dancing while still keeping the emotions complete". Director Trinh Dinh Le Minh commented: The play shows that music in Vietnam has gone a long way. When the audience can dance with the actors, it means art has touched their hearts.
Once on this island: A long time ago on an island with a total of 5 performances from November 14 to 16, 2025 at the C30 Hoa Binh stage (HCMC). The play gathered 26 members.
