One of the gender stereotypes that director Thanh Nhan encountered was that there were clients who asked her not to reveal her identity and invited a male director to attend meetings on their behalf because "the boss's wife doesn't like her husband working with a female director."
In addition, because of the nature of their work, directors are often known as womanizers. Even female directors are not immune to this scandal.
Huynh Phuc Thanh Nhan said: “I myself have also been involved in unnecessary scandals. For example, in a program, there was a singer or actor who I had feelings for at work, so I treated him like a colleague. However, through the lens of that singer's girlfriend, it became a very terrible thing.”
Director Huynh Phuc Thanh Nhan was even once warned by the artist's girlfriend: "Stay away from my lover", even though the female director had no other intentions and she already had her own small family.
Also in the program, host Le Hoang mentioned another hidden aspect of the director's job, which is that there are people whose names are on the program but are not actually involved in the production process.
Regarding this issue, director Thanh Nhan admitted that there were many cases where she was invited to be the person behind a certain project.
However, director Thanh Nhan believes that this is not a problem because having your name on it or not is not as important as being able to work. The female director believes that just doing your job well is enough.
