MC Hong Phuc and his crew produced a reality TV show about cuisine to promote cultural exchange between Vietnam and Korea.
This is an opportunity for the audience to explore the culinary fusion of the two countries.
MC Hong Phuc was chosen as the Vietnamese culinary ambassador because he has been hosting the program "Check in Vietnam", promoting culture and culinary tourism in 63 provinces and cities of Vietnam for the past 5 years on VTV2 - Vietnam Television.
This time he plays the role of a waiter for a Vietnamese restaurant called "Vi que" opened in the center of Mokpo city, 4 hours drive from Seoul - where 70% of Vietnamese people study, work and live.
This is not the first time MC Hong Phuc has participated in reality TV because in 2017, he participated in the show "Dad, where are we going season 4" which was also copyrighted from Korea, and in 2019 he participated in the show "Adventure with Guliver" which was copyrighted from Japan.
This time, Hong Phuc was under a lot of pressure because he had to discuss opening a restaurant with two colleagues, chef Nguyen Thuong Quan and MC "Mustard Trang", and the dishes had to have the authentic taste of their homeland.
The restaurant had to open within 3 days. Vietnamese and Korean customers, even famous Korean stars, lined up to enjoy the delicious Vietnamese dishes.
In the program, MC Hong Phuc had to wake up at 5am every day to record until late at night, through which he saw that Vietnamese people in Korea work very hard but are also patient, hardworking and successful.
There were joys and tears of homesickness from the Vietnamese community when participating in this reality TV show. The show is expected to have 4 episodes broadcast on VTV2 and MBC on the occasion of Tet 2025.
