Currently a notable face at Vietnam's Next Top Model 2025, Mo - a 19-year-old rookie in the Vietnamese fashion industry - has just confirmed her appearance in the film project "Ba don mat con" by director Hoang Nam. This is also her first film role, when transforming into Trang - the granddaughter of the character Mrs. Nga Tu played by People's Artist Thanh Hoa.
"Don't be sad" tells a touching story about the journey to adulthood of Tien - a young man who grew up in love and her care. The film is scheduled to be released on December 12, 2025, gathering a cast of many generations. In it, People's Artist Thanh Hoa plays the role of Mrs. Nga Tu, the kind and tolerant, the spiritual support of her children and grandchildren.
Director Hoang Nam said he wanted to portray the image of a close grandmother, attached to the memories of many audiences, and at the same time hoped that the work would become a tribute to the Vietnamese family.
The Mo expressed her emotion at being able to cooperate with People's Artist Thanh Hoa: "This is a valuable opportunity for me to learn and challenge myself. I really hope the role will touch the hearts of the audience. As the youngest contestant of Vietnam's Next Top Model 2025 but highly appreciated for her potential, the Moaning lady saw Trang's role as an important turning point in her career, marking her journey from catwalk to cinema.
People's Artist Thanh Hoa shared that she came to the film with love for her family and the audience: "At this age, transforming into a devoted grandmother, I feel like I am being told my own story and that of many Vietnamese mothers and grandmothers".
The film was filmed in Hanoi, and has just announced the first two actors, People's Artist Thanh Hoa and Nang Mo. The remaining cast, including the main character Tien - Mrs. Nga Tu's grandson - will be announced in the near future.
Director Hoang Nam affirmed: "The combination of a multi-generational cast promises to create a work rich in emotions, close and touching the hearts of the audience at the end of the year".
