On the evening of July 9, the Thai Film Festival in Vietnam 2026 officially opened in Ho Chi Minh City, gathering many filmmakers, actors and film experts from Thailand and Vietnam.
Entering its third organization in Vietnam, the event continues to become an opportunity for domestic audiences to access new works of Thai cinema, while creating a space for exchange between content creators of the two countries.
The highlight of this year's Thai Film Festival is a series of 5 films including Midnight Incense, Death Whisperer 1, Ghost Board, Our House and Human Resource. After each screening, audiences have the opportunity to interact directly with directors, actors and production crews to learn about the creative process as well as the stories behind each work.
In which, Our House is a movie that received a lot of attention when it once made a mark at the Vietnamese box office. The fact that the work continues to participate in the festival shows the increasing attraction of Thai cinema to Vietnamese audiences.
The opening ceremony also brought together many prominent faces of Thai cinema such as directors Kongkiat Komesiri, Kriangkrai Monwichit, Worarit Ninklom, Chanathip Wongpoltree and actors Thanchanok Yutthasarnsiri, Celine Phongphan, Satida Sripromma, Panisara Rikulsurakan...
On the Vietnamese side, People's Artist Hong Van, director Duc Thinh, director Khoi Nguyen, producer - actress Thanh Thuy, actor Trinh Tu Trung and model Minh Khac were also present to interact with international colleagues.
In recent years, Thai films have continuously made their mark in the Vietnamese market in many genres such as horror, psychological, romantic or family. Many works have achieved positive revenue, contributing to expanding the audience and creating a premise for cooperation projects between filmmakers of the two countries.
According to the organizers, Thai Film Festival in Vietnam 2026 is not only an activity to introduce films but also aims to strengthen connections between filmmakers, promote creative experience exchange and open up opportunities for cooperation in the field of cinema. The event is also part of a series of activities towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand, contributing to strengthening cultural exchange through the seventh art.
