The establishment of the school aims to meet the urgent need for training college-level human resources in the fields of health, information technology, construction, logistics and supporting industry - industries lacking highly skilled labor in the province and neighboring areas.
Currently, the rate of trained workers with degrees and certificates in Hai Duong has only reached about 32.7%, while the scale of annual college admissions only meets more than 60% of the plan. In the context of the province aiming to become a modern industrial province, a dynamic industrial center of the Red River Delta by 2030, the development of the vocational education system becomes urgent.
Thanh Dong Vocational College is proposed to be established according to a private model, with strong investment potential in advanced facilities and training programs, closely linked to businesses and actual needs of the labor market.
The establishment of the school not only supplements vocational training capacity for the locality, but also contributes to the effective implementation of the work of diverting students after junior high school and high school; expanding vocational training and career opportunities for young people.
It is expected that Thanh Dong Vocational College will be located on the campus of Thanh Dong University (Tu Minh Ward, Hai Duong City), with an area of about 20,000 m2. This land has been planned as educational land, completely in line with the development orientation of the province's network of vocational training institutions.
