On July 7, the 2026 High School Graduation Examination Council of Ca Mau province officially reported statistics and analyzed the exam score distribution of candidates in the area.
According to statistics, the math exam score (from 8 points or higher) in the 2026 high school graduation exam of Ca Mau province this year increased sharply compared to last year. For 10 points alone, this province has 14 exam papers, an increase of 11 exam papers. However, according to the director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province, this is not unusual.
According to the report, the average score of the province's exam subjects reached 5.73 points, 0.11 points lower than the national average but ranked 16th/34 provinces and cities. In the Mekong Delta region, Ca Mau ranked 2nd, after Dong Thap; and ranked 3rd/8 provinces and cities in the Southern region.
The whole province has 54 perfect scores in Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Informatics and Agricultural Technology.
In compulsory subjects, Literature achieved an average score of 6.56, 0.06 points higher than the national average and ranked 15th nationwide. Mathematics achieved 5.15 points, up 0.9 points compared to 2025 but still 0.5 points lower than the national average; there were 14 exam papers with perfect scores.
Notably, social science subjects continue to be Ca Mau's strength. History achieved an average score of 6.32, ranking 5th in the country; Geography achieved 5.37 points, ranking 4th; Economic and Legal Education achieved 5.08 points, ranking 12th. Industrial Technology and Agricultural Technology also have average scores higher than the national average.
However, the exam results show that the quality between subjects is not uniform. The rate of exam papers below 5 points is still high in English (62.72%), Physics (52.3%), Math (48.24%), Economic and Legal Education (46.29%), Geography (38.77%) and Biology (36.91%). The average scores of Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Informatics and English are all lower than the national average.
Previously, there were many public opinions that there were also many high math exam scores in Ca Mau, with many perfect scores compared to last year.
Speaking about the high increase in excellent and perfect scores in mathematics in the province compared to last year, Mr. Nguyen Van Nguyen, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau province, affirmed that according to professional assessment, "there is nothing unusual".
According to Mr. Nguyen, last year was the first year to take the exam according to the 2018 general education program. This year, teachers have experience and suitable teaching methods, helping students improve the quality of mathematics.
