The certificate is awarded after a rigorous evaluation process according to international standards, including self-assessment dossier appraisal, field surveys and interviews with stakeholders such as school leaders, lecturers, students, alumni and partner businesses.
According to a representative of Gia Dinh University, achieving THE-ICE accreditation not only reflects management capacity and training quality, but also demonstrates GDU's commitment to making education quality transparent and improving students' learning experiences according to international standards.
Currently, GDU is the first university in Vietnam to be recognized as meeting THE-ICE standards.
Previously, the school had 13 training programs that achieved quality accreditation according to the set of standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.
THE-ICE was established by the Australian Federal Government in 2004 to build standards and promote the development of education in the field of tourism, hotels and events (TH&E).
On January 8, 2024, the Ministry of Education and Training issued a decision recognizing the operation of this organization in Vietnam, allowing THE-ICE to evaluate and recognize the training quality of higher education institutions according to specific processes and standards.
