On July 5, the Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, the Protection of People with Disabilities and the Protection of Children's Rights of Vinh Long province coordinated with the People's Committee of An Ngai Trung commune and philanthropists to organize the inauguration of the "Bridge to Collect Love" project in My Trung hamlet.
The rural traffic bridge is 13m long, 3.3m wide, with a load capacity of 2.5 tons, built with a total cost of 115 million VND. The funding is contributed by volunteer groups, philanthropists, businesses and local people.
Including the 1K Vegetarian Rice Group "Contributing Love", the Liaison Committee of Cau Ngang Hometown Association, the Vietnam - Cambodia Business Club and many organizations and individuals joining hands to support and contribute to completing the project on schedule.
The project is implemented to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Saigon - Gia Dinh City officially honored to be named after President Ho Chi Minh, and at the same time contributes to completing transport infrastructure, creating convenience for people to travel, transport goods and develop the economy.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Vo Thi Thuy - Chairwoman of the Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin, Disability Protection and Child Rights Protection of the province - thanked philanthropists and volunteer groups for accompanying and caring for the lives of local people.
According to Ms. Vo Thi Thuy, the project not only helps people in My Trung hamlet travel more safely and conveniently, but also contributes to promoting new rural construction, improving the quality of life and strengthening community cohesion.
On this occasion, sponsors presented 100 gifts and 10 scholarships to poor households, near-poor households, and students in difficult circumstances with a total budget of 52 million VND.
