On July 23, Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the Provincial Women's Union to organize a conference to implement the Project "Supporting Women's Startups in the 2026 - 2035 Period". On this occasion, the organizing committee launched a startup contest and awarded funding to support typical projects.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Be Muoi requested departments, branches, and localities to strengthen propaganda, arouse the spirit of innovation, and build a favorable environment for women to confidently start businesses and develop the economy.
Provincial leaders requested to improve the quality of training, consulting, and support in building business ideas; create conditions for accessing capital sources, connecting businesses, investors and experts. At the same time, promote the application of science and technology, e-commerce, brand building and market expansion.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Be Muoi, the effectiveness of the project is not only assessed by the number of businesses established by women but also in the ability to create jobs, increase income, improve living standards and contribute to local socio-economic development.
At the conference, Deputy Director of Vinh Long Provincial Social Policy Bank Branch Tran Le Thanh Thao said that the total entrusted loan capital through the Women's Union at all levels currently reaches more than 7,300 billion VND, helping many women invest in production, business and livelihood development.
According to the Vinh Long Provincial Women's Union, in the period 2017 - 2025, union levels organized more than 47,500 propaganda sessions with over 1.2 million members participating. In the period 2026 - 2035, the union continues to support women to access preferential capital, promote innovation, digital transformation and green transformation for sustainable development.
