The movie "Huyen Tinh Da Trach" recreates the immortal and "one-of-a-kind" love story between Princess Tien Dung and poor young man Chu Dong Tu. Two free, ambitious people, daring to cross the boundaries of fate, prejudice and class order, passionately love each other, thereby changing a whole community, making one of the most outstanding love stories of Vietnamese culture.
The film also recreates the journey from starting a business - fighting for survival - mastering nature of Van Lang residents, in which Chu Dong Tu appears as a symbol: A pioneer, leading, educating millions of people, representing love not possessive, not imposing but spreading love with fairness, kindness and the will to build a prosperous life.
Legend of Da Trach" also makes this year's Tet movie race richer and more diverse. Audiences will no longer be limited to modern family dramas, psychology... often seen in Tet movie seasons. In addition to entertainment, there is also the opportunity to experience the journey to the roots and sacred culture right in the early days of the new year.
Watching the film, viewers have a vivid image of the living space of ancient Vietnamese people, the Van Lang period and pre-Dong Son cultural elements, from traditional rituals such as tattooing, mulberry shooting, wrestling, folk beliefs, to handicrafts such as bronze casting, weapons making, boat building, pottery making, agriculture and irrigation.
The film is filmed in many locations with unique landscape - cultural values. In which many scenes are filmed directly in Chu Xa (Hanoi) where Chu Dong Tu was born and the Da Trach lagoon land (Hung Yen), which is associated with the true legend of the two main characters Chu Dong Tu and Tien Dung.
General Director of Hanoi Radio - Nguyen Kim Khiem shared that this is not only a movie but also a cultural - creative project, contributing to spreading national identity values in the contemporary context.
According to Mr. Khiem, when building film projects about Vietnamese history and culture, Hanoi Radio hopes that the public - especially the young generation - can visually and clearly visualize what their ancestors have created, about the historical and cultural space of their ancestors.
