Responding to International Day of Rare Diseases 2026 (February 28), AstraZeneca Vietnam emphasized its sustainable companionship with the community of rare diseases in Vietnam. According to the Vietnam Medical Association, there are currently about 6 million people affected by rare diseases nationwide, equivalent to 1 in 15 people living with these diseases.
From 2025, AstraZeneca Vietnam will implement a long-term strategy in the field of rare diseases with a focus on patients as the center, promoting the application of scientific advances in diagnosis and treatment. The enterprise also supports management agencies to share data and international experience, contributing to the implementation of the "National Action Plan on Management of Rare Diseases for the period 2025-2026".
At the same time, the company coordinates with hospitals, universities and specialized associations to improve early diagnosis capacity, develop multi-specialized treatment models, optimize referrals and promote sustainable financial mechanisms, thereby reducing the cost burden for rare patients.
