The conference gathered more than 700 delegates from the Ministry of Health, the WHO, research institutes and hospitals nationwide.
With the theme " currentitizing comprehensive actions in controlling Dengue Fever", the conference focused on analyzing the complex epidemiology of the disease and discussing strategic solutions to reduce cases, severe cases and improve response capacity of the health system.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Vu Trung emphasized that Vietnam is a global "hot spot" when the disease circulates all year round and changes between regions. Data shows that SXH is the group with the highest incidence rate, the age of patients is expanding. Experts agree that disease control requires a multi-sectoral approach, combining vector control, epidemic monitoring, communication to change behavior and prevention with vaccines.
At the event, reports updated with epidemic trends, forecast models, international experiences and vaccination solutions, factors recommended by WHO in the context of no specific drugs.
The conference ended with a commitment to strengthen cooperation and promote scientific application to sustainably control dengue production in Vietnam.
