This is a typical sporting activity to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday and the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term.
In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Cong Danh - Deputy Director of the Binh Duong Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center emphasized the significance of the tournament in promoting the mass sports movement and improving professional quality.
In particular, Mr. Cao Van Chong - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism of Binh Duong province, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament, directly directed and presented souvenir flags to participating units, demonstrating the industry's close interest in the billiard movement.
This year's tournament attracted 117 athletes from 9 districts and cities in the province. Athletes compete in 2 events: carom 1 ban (50 people) and carom 3 ban (67 people), competing in a knockout format. The competition takes place on May 23, 26 and 27. Right after the opening ceremony, the matches took place in an exciting and dramatic atmosphere.
As a traditional tournament held annually, the Binh Duong Provincial Billiard Championship is a place to discover and select potential athletes for the provincial team. Many athletes who have grown up from this tournament have achieved high achievements domestically and internationally, typically the world champion in the individual 3-cushion carom event and teammates Bao Phuong Vinh.
The tournament not only contributes to improving the professional qualifications of athletes but also affirms the position of Binh Duong billiards on the map of Vietnamese sports.
