The tournament brings together 5 teams including Binh Dinh, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, Tuy Hoa - Phu Yen and VietFootball.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoi - Standing Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) affirmed that the tournament is a useful playground, contributing to the development of the beach soccer movement, discovering and nurturing talents, creating resources for national teams.
Since it was first included in the national competition system in 2009, the national beach soccer championship has been held 15 times, recognizing the efforts of VFF in maintaining the movement of practicing and competing in beach soccer nationwide, while contributing to diversifying types of football, promoting the movement of health training in the community, especially in coastal localities.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoi also expressed his gratitude for the attention, coordination and facilitation of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province and local agencies and departments in organizing the tournament.
At the same time, I believe that this year's tournament will be a great success, leaving many professional impressions and a beautiful image in the hearts of fans, contributing to promoting the stronger development of Vietnamese beach soccer.
Right after the opening ceremony, there were 2 matches of the first round, in which defending champion Da Nang showed their superior strength when defeating Tuy Hoa - Phu Yen with a score of 6-2. In the second match, the host Khanh Hoa surprised everyone when they defeated the defending runner-up Binh Dinh with a score of 3-1.
The second round will take place on June 9.
