On the afternoon of June 24, Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau - Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam Football Federation and representatives of VFF leaders visited and encouraged national U20 futsal player Doan Tuan Phong.
The goalkeeper of Hanoi futsal club has just undergone surgery and is actively recovering.
Previously, Tuan Phong suffered a anterior cruciate ligament injury to his right knee in the match between Hanoi and Sahako in the 5th round of the HDBank National Futsal Championship 2026, after a ball handling situation in the 14th minute. After being examined and professionally assessed, this young goalkeeper was indicated for surgery to completely treat the injury.
This is unfortunate for Tuan Phong because before that, he also suffered a left knee ligament injury during the process of participating with the Vietnam U19 futsal team in the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Futsal Championship in Thailand.
After surgery and treatment, Tuan Phong had just returned to play when he unfortunately suffered an injury to his remaining knee.
At the visit, Deputy Secretary General Nguyen Minh Chau sent words of encouragement and motivation to Doan Tuan Phong, and at the same time wished the young goalkeeper to maintain his will and well follow the treatment regimen to recover soon and return to the field.
VFF leaders affirmed that they will direct professional departments to continue to closely monitor the treatment and recovery process of Doan Tuan Phong, and at the same time provide timely support to create the best conditions for the young player to return to futsal soon, regain his form and aim to wear the national futsal team jersey in the future.
