VSCF Forum: Saint-Gobain pioneers in low-emission materials solutions

    At the Vietnam Construction Industry Sustainable Development Forum, Saint-Gobain Vietnam Co., Ltd. continued to affirm its pioneering position in green transformation of the construction industry.

    Saint-Gobain Vietnam attended the Vietnam Construction Industry Sustainable Development Forum (VSCF) 2025 with an exhibition booth and two strategic presentations at the plenary session and thematic session, thereby affirming that light materials, high-performance and low-carbon are not an additional solution, but an important foundation for the Vietnamese construction industry to create a sustainable infrastructure system, meeting growth requirements and making steady progress on the Net Zero 2050 roadmap.

    Saint-Gobain Vietnam and the University of Technology - Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City have signed the "Green Cooperation and Sustainable Development of the Construction Sector".

    In particular, within the framework of the VSCF 2025 event, Saint-Gobain Vietnam received the award " pioneering enterprise in sustainable development of the Vietnamese construction industry", becoming one of the first large-scale construction materials companies in Vietnam to achieve this prestigious title.

    The award recognizes Saint-Gobain for meeting 5 criteria with outstanding scores, including: Strategy and commitment to sustainable development, Reducing emissions and environmental efficiency, Innovation in sustainable technology and materials, Social responsibility and community impact, Spanning and industry impact.

    Saint-Gobain uses biomass fuel to produce green cement sheets

    On October 13, Saint-Gobain Vietnam announced important steps in the green energy transition journey at Hiep Phu-VICO factory (Quang Tri province). The factory has pioneered the successful application of biomass fuel in the production process of DURAflex® Low carbon green cement film, helping to reduce CO2 emissions by more than 74% per m2 of product. This is a premise to help Saint-Gobain Vietnam aim for the first carbon-neutral (CO2 zero-emission) factory model in the construction materials industry in Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

    Saint-Gobain Vietnam Northern Company has just officially signed a contract to buy liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Vietnam LPG Trading Joint Stock Company (PV GAS LPG) - a member of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group. The agreement not only reflects Saint-Gobain's commitment to sustainable development, but also opens up new directions for the general construction materials industry with the choice of reducing emissions right from the production process.

    On March 10, Saint-Gobain launched the DURAflex® Low Carbon cement plate - the first green cement plate manufactured in Vietnam. This is a strategic product that realizes Saint-Gobain's commitment to sustainable development. DURAflex® Low carbon cement is directly produced in Vietnam according to Saint-Gobain's global standard quality standards, bringing many different values.
