In the afternoon of April 17, in Phu Quoc special zone, An Giang province, a working delegation of the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for Combating Smuggling, Commercial Fraud and Counterfeit Goods (National Steering Committee 389) came to grasp the situation and inspect the work of combating smuggling, trading, and illegal transportation of gasoline and oil in the sea area managed by Coast Guard Region 4 Command.
Comrade Vuong Truong Nam, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office, National Steering Committee for Anti-Smuggling, Trade Fraud and Counterfeit Goods, was the Head of the delegation; the delegation also included comrades from the Standing Office and functional ministries and branches; professional agencies of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command.
In 2025 and the first months of 2026, Coast Guard Region 4 Command has led and directed the drastic and comprehensive implementation of policies and solutions to effectively combat crimes and violations. 423 cases/440 ship turns have been inspected, received, and handled, seizing more than 2 million liters of DO oil, more than 230 tons of urea fertilizer, 30 tons of granulated sugar, over 100 tons of seafood of all kinds, with an estimated value of more than 35 billion VND.
Specifically, during the peak period of combating smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods before, during and after the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year in 2026, Coast Guard Region 4 Command inspected, arrested, received, investigated, and handled 124 cases/128 ships; confiscated more than 17 tons of seafood, more than 419,000 liters of DO oil. ADMINISTRATIVEly sanctioned 111 cases/115 ships with a total amount of more than 2.5 billion VND, sold and resold confiscated goods due to administrative violations with a total amount of more than 13.7 billion VND; handed over 10 cases/12 ships to localities for handling.
Coast Guard Region 4 Command also regularly coordinates and cooperates with forces such as Border Guards, Customs, Police and local authorities in the stationed area; promptly exchanges information, organizes struggles, and handles violations in accordance with regulations. At the same time, the unit promotes propaganda and dissemination of laws to fishermen, ship owners, and businesses operating at sea; combines good mass mobilization work, contributing to raising awareness and awareness of law compliance, not to assist smuggling and illegal transportation of goods at sea.
Speaking at the working session, Comrade Vuong Truong Nam, Deputy Chief of the Standing Office, National Steering Committee 389, acknowledged and highly appreciated the outstanding results that Coast Guard Region 4 Command has achieved in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Effectively coordinate with the Border Guard, Police, Procuracy and functional forces of An Giang, Ca Mau, and Can Tho provinces in fighting and handling criminal violations, contributing to maintaining security and order in the Southwest sea area of the Fatherland.
The comrade emphasized that the Southwest sea area has complex characteristics, smuggling and trade fraud activities contain many unpredictable factors; therefore, he requested the unit to continue to do a good job of grasping and forecasting the situation, strictly maintain forces and vehicles on duty and ready to fight; strengthen patrols and inspections, resolutely fight against violations. At the same time, pay attention to coordination and coordination with functional forces, not allowing the formation of hot spots, lines, and groups of smuggling, trading, and illegal transportation of goods, especially gasoline and oil products in the Southwest sea area.
