Implementing Decision No. 2481/QD-UBND dated December 31, 2025 of the People's Committee of Cua Nam ward on the establishment of the Inter-sectoral Food Safety (FS) Inspection Team in 2026, the Inter-sectoral FS Inspection Team conducted a surprise inspection of Household Business of Rice Restaurant 88 (address No. 88, in Ba Trieu alley, Cua Nam ward, Hanoi City).
At the time of inspection, the establishment was still open, operating with many customers. Through inspection, the team discovered many violations of food safety regulations.
Specifically, the establishment does not have a Certificate of Eligibility for Food Safety for the type of food service business. Facilities conditions are not guaranteed, there are no waste collection tools; ceiling and walls of the processing area are dirty. Employees directly in contact with food do not use protective clothing as prescribed such as gloves and masks.
Based on the conclusion of the surprise inspection on April 10, 2026, the People's Committee of Cua Nam ward requested to temporarily suspend the business operation of food and beverage services for the household business of Rice Restaurant 88 from April 14, 2026 until the establishment fully meets the food safety conditions according to regulations.
The Ward People's Committee also requested the establishment to seriously comply with the decision; assigned the Ward Police and the Ward Health Station to supervise the temporary suspension of operations, publicize information about violating establishments, and strengthen propaganda to prevent people and tourists from using services at establishments that do not ensure food safety. In case the establishment intentionally resumes operations when conditions are not met, it will be strictly handled according to regulations.
