The event took place when FTSE Russell included Vietnam in the roadmap to upgrade to New floating Market from September 21, 2026.
In her opening speech, Ms. Vu Thi Chan Phuong - Chairwoman of the State Securities Commission - emphasized that the upgrade is just the beginning of a period when the market must be more transparent, focusing on investor protection and capital use discipline.
According to her, corporate governance is a central factor that helps businesses manage risks, protect shareholders and build trust and reputation in the international capital market.
Within the framework of AF8, representatives of management agencies, international organizations and investment funds discussed Vietnam's economic prospects, the trend of linking governance with sustainable development and environmental - social responsibility, and experience in preparing for governance from the pre- IPO stage.
The forum also introduced initiatives to improve governance standards, honoring pioneering enterprises, thereby affirming the role of VIOD in connecting stakeholders and accompanying Vietnamese enterprises on the journey to enhance competitiveness in the regional and international capital markets.
