Previously, on May 19, the Economic Police Department of Lai Chau Provincial Police coordinated with Market Management Team No. 02 - Provincial Market Management Department to inspect Do Thi Thuy business household in Nam Loong village, Quyet Thang ward, Lai Chau city.
Through inspection, the authorities discovered that the establishment was selling 47 boxes of Fuji-moto brand sweet potato (main butter), with a total weight of 720kg, worth about 23.4 million VND.
The product packaging does not record the origin of the goods and lacks mandatory contents according to the provisions of law.
The Economic Police Department has drawn up a record of administrative violations and issued a decision to fine Mr. Dao Van Dung (born in 1988, residing in Quyet Thang Ward, Lai Chau City, representing a business household) for trading in goods with labels that do not fully comply with the mandatory content according to regulations.
The authorities have imposed an administrative fine of 17 million VND and requested the revocation of all violating goods, and labeling them in accordance with regulations before continuing to circulate on the market.
Recently, implementing the direction of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Health has issued a document requesting the People's Committees of provinces and centrally run cities to organize a peak period from May 15 to June 15, 2025 to fight against the production and sale of counterfeit goods in the health sector.
Accordingly, the People's Committees of localities need to direct competent agencies to urgently launch a peak period of inspection and handling of smuggling, trade fraud, and infringement of intellectual property rights for items such as drugs, cosmetics, health protection foods, medical equipment, and chemicals used in medicine and daily life. The implementation results will be reported to the Ministry of Health before June 20, 2025.
