Since the beginning of October, supermarket systems have proactively increased the output of fresh goods and committed not to increase selling prices, in order to meet increased consumer demand in harsh weather conditions.

MM Mega Market Vietnam said that the unit has quickly implemented the first emergency relief program with a total value of 100 million VND, in order to promptly share difficulties with people in the two most affected localities, Thai Nguyen and Bac Ninh.

In this support package, MM Mega Market focuses on providing essential necessities to help people stabilize their lives after natural disasters, including 3 groups: instant food and bottled water; necessities such as rice, fish sauce, cooking oil; household and personal care products such as detergent, floor cleaner, toothpaste, soap, shampoo...

All goods are transported directly from MM Mega Market's warehouse to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thai Nguyen and Bac Ninh provinces, to promptly distribute to households in need of the most support.

Currently, MM Mega Market has increased the output of fresh goods to 300%, focusing on key items such as vegetables from farms in Da Lat, Moc Chau vegetables and fruits, tomatoes - products with high consumption demand and need to be quickly exported to the Northern market. The company also plans to maintain the increased supply level until at least the end of October, to ensure a stable supply chain throughout the rainy and stormy season.

In addition to the vegetable group, the unit also fully reserves pork, chicken, beef, and fish from the beginning of the rainy season, ready to quickly supply key areas in case demand increases suddenly or the weather affects transportation. In the coming time, the amount of supplies is expected to increase by 3 times to consolidate reserves at distribution centers.

Similarly, Mr. Le Manh Phong - Director of the Northern region of GO supermarket system! and Tops Market, said that in recent days, the entire staff of Central Retail Vietnam has made great efforts to ensure the supply of goods, serving the needs of people in the northern provinces and cities affected by local storms and floods.

According to Mr. Phong, fast-moving consumer goods such as rice, sugar, fish sauce, spices, etc. are all fully supplied. With fresh food, vegetables and fruits are increased from provinces less affected by storms and floods, helping the output increase 3-4 times compared to normal days. The supply of meat and fish is also abundant thanks to the proactiveness of major suppliers and the additional amount of frozen goods.

In addition, essential items such as drinking water, rice, eggs, instant noodles, milk... all have large reserves in the supermarket system, and are also committed to additional supplies from current suppliers, ensuring full supply of people's shopping needs during the storm period.

Regarding prices, the system representative affirmed that it always maintains a stable, consistent and competitive price policy, helping consumers feel secure when shopping at all times.
